Australian author Zana Fraillon's UK debut novel The Bone Sparrow will be released July 14 by Orion Children's Books.

The Bone Sparrow follows 10 year old Subhi, who's spent his entire life living in a refugee detention centre after fleeing the violence of his homeland with his mother and sister, and who uses his imagination to escape the cruelty and monotony of the camp. Fraillon, likened to John Boyne, Morris Gleitzman and Markus Zusak, has created a beautifully told story that's topical and relevant while remaining imaginative and emotive - it's sure to be a huge hit with children and adults alike.
